A clear explanation of what Slateli collects, why it is used, which services support the app, and how you can delete your data.

Privacy Policy

Slateli ("the app") is a family organization app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and how you can control or delete it.

Information We Collect

  • Account & profile info: name, and an optional profile photo you choose to add.
  • Family content: calendar events, chores, groceries, meal plans, finances, health/habit entries, travel plans, and contacts/hobbies you enter into the app.
  • Family Circle data: if you join or create a Family Circle, your profile and the content above is shared with the other members of that family, as intended by the feature.
  • Push notification token: a device identifier used solely to deliver notifications about activity in your Family Circle (e.g. a chore was added, someone joined).
  • Purchase information: Slateli Plus subscription status, handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Scan a Note and Voice Command

These features (available with Slateli Plus) turn a photo or spoken sentence into a calendar event or chore.

  • Scan a Note: text is extracted from your photo entirely on your device using Apple's on-device text recognition. The photo itself is never uploaded — only the extracted text is sent to our server to be structured into an event or chore.
  • Voice Command: your speech is transcribed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The audio itself is never uploaded — only the resulting text is sent to our server.
  • The text sent from either feature is processed using Google's Gemini API to identify a title, date, time, and other event/chore details. This text is not used by Google to train models and is not retained by us beyond what's needed to return a result to you.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above solely to operate the app's features: displaying your calendar and chores, syncing content with your Family Circle, sending relevant notifications, structuring scanned notes and voice commands, and verifying your subscription status. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase — hosts your account and family data.
  • Google Gemini API — processes text from Scan a Note and Voice Command, as described above.
  • Apple (StoreKit, Push Notification service, on-device Speech/Vision frameworks) — handles subscriptions, notification delivery, and on-device transcription/text recognition.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: go to the Profiles tab, tap the Family Circle pill at the top, then Account Settings → Delete Account and confirm on the following screen. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

Slateli is intended for use by adults managing a household. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Profiles for children may be created and managed by an adult family member within a Family Circle.

Data Security

Data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with Supabase's security controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
